It’s amazing what you don’t see on a golf course. There are miles of pipe and wire that make up the irrigation system on a golf course. At Lake Wisconsin we are replacing a section of pipe that was leaking. To accomplish this we isolated the bad section of pipe and cut it at both ends. Then a trencher was used to re-trench a line in the same location. New pipe was laid and the wires were reconnected. To properly fill in the trench 6” of soil was filled and tamped, or compacted, and that process repeated until the trench was filled and seeded. Proper compaction is difficult, but necessary because without it the lose soil will compact and the ground won’t be level. The next day after the glue dried, the area was re-pressurized and ready to irrigate!
